Shane S. Smith, Esq.

Shane S. Smith is an associate attorney in Tannenbaum Scro’s construction and litigation sections. Ms. Smith's areas of concentration include construction law and commercial litigation, including mortgage workouts and foreclosure defense.

Ms. Smith is a native of St. Petersburg, Florida. She received her undergraduate degree from the University of Notre Dame in 2001 and her juris doctorate degree in 2007 from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. She was admitted to practice law in Florida in May, 2008.

While attending the University of Notre Dame, Ms. Smith was a two year captain of the Notre Dame Women's Varsity Golf Team and a two-time most valuable player. After graduation, she played golf professionally on the Futures Golf Tour, a women's satellite tour. In 2004, Ms. Smith decided to forego a professional golf career, and chose to attend the Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Lansing, Michigan. After obtaining her juris doctorate degree, Ms. Smith returned to Florida and accepted a position with Tannenbaum Scro in its construction and litigation sections.

Ms. Smith is a member of the Florida Bar. She is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Ms. Smith is an active member of three chapters of the Community Association Institute (Pinellas/Hillsborough, and Sarasota/Manatee and Ft. Myers/Naples).

Ms. Smith's civic activities include volunteering in the Junior League of Sarasota, an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women, and improving the community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers. She serves on a committee involving the League's three year Signature Project of child abuse prevention and intervention. She is also an active member in the Young Lawyers Division of the Sarasota County Bar Association, the Young Professionals Group of the Sarasota Chamber of Commerce, and the Notre Dame Alumni Club of Greater Sarasota.

Her outside interests include spending time with family and friends, golf, tennis, and going to the beach.
